So, as the title says, I hacked up one Fleischmann Lotus in order to fit a more appropriate (modern) chassis which is still under construction though
These cars have a 2-part bodyshell, the shutline runs across the middle.
The original car was some horrid orange, the lower half of the body had snapped axle-carriers, cracks and dents all over and was beyond repair.
First I disassembled the car, then I glued the body shut and after the glue had set I demelled it open again...
Then I sanded the shutlines smooth, keyed the surface of the body and slapped on some primer and paint. Not the correct shade of green, I know, but this will be a fantasy livery anyway...
Started detailing the body, a dab of paint and some self-adhesive aluminium tape cut to size.
Working on the "engine" as we speak, but I could not resist taking a pic and posting it here
So far:
I'm enjoying this one, so on to the chassis soon...
