Still some details to complete. Workmanship is not nearly as nice as BSN's.

[Edited 05/12: Trying to link the pictures again. Seems that Star Boulevard are onto Tropi and have changed the format again...]

I will try to finish it this weekend and if so, may just send it as an entry in the Marconi Foundation Charity Proxy Race.

Kind regards

Russell

I've just realised that the white strip on the top of the windscreen should be yellow... I'll change it, hopefully before anyone else notices!

What a magnetic monster!
That is going to pull a few amps, to be sure!

I can't help noticing the apparent shift of the front axle position between the last two photographs. It shows so clearly just how much a tiny bit of parallax and the limitations of a camera lens can mislead our human eyes.

Nice job Russell:
But it looks like to me that there are 4 magents including the button one just behind the guide flag. Looks to be a another crash and bash magent race again like in Vegas this year after seeing some of the other ones also. Hope it survives better than your last one did Whew!!

Not going to get me to drive them magnet monsters this time.

I really don't enjoy the magnet traction cars myself, but for some or other reason this class is considered as the "premier" class in the Marconi event.

Yes Larry, my first attempt at building a plastic chassis magnet traction car came home in pieces in a little plastic bag…

This is what it originally looked like:

It is not a question of being the "premier class" as much as a question of the number of entries in that class...

As long as speed is the uber alles matter, magnet cars will be IT. But who knows, next year we may run on a very different track...

It's a very interesting chassis - seemingly a blend of pro-class metal hinge construction but with VERY lightweight plastic panels rather than brass plate. It does look a little vulnerable in places!

The other curiosity, for me, is the guide, with the braids folded over the front edge, but no very obvious means of attachment to it. I can only assume thay they are glued on to the plastic. The braids look immaculate in this photo, but how did they stand up to what must have been pretty vicious racing?

I could be wrong but either you have a Nr 1 car with white sticker on the windscreen and Jacky Ickx among the drivers or you choose the Nr 3 car with yellow sticker but then Jacky wasn't among the drivers ...
