Ian - I will watch... and have a pint, while I am waiting.

Being the biggest Tyrrell fan (from the seventies) outside England, I have had the pleasure and the greatest joy to attend live and see the eight wheeled Tyrrell win yet another 1-2 on Zolder in Belgium on Sunday May 20 1973. A few weeks later, Sunday June 17 1973, I was present again, when it was only a four wheeled Tyrrell, driven by the unforgettable Francois Cevert, which earned third place on Anderstorp in Sweden. Stewart coming in fifht.

On Saturday October 6 1973 the magic was all over......

Of course I was present live, among other races these years, at Anderstorp, Sweden, in 1974 and 1976 when the young guys, Scheckter and Depailler, made great 1-2 races. But it was, unfortunately, not quite the same.

I will never forget these blue racers from 1970 to 1973 (Tyrrell 001 to 006/3).

Tony - sorry about my Queens English.

By "eight-wheeled" Tyrrell I ment one of the six 1-2 victories Jackie Stewart and Francois Cevert won in the years 1971-73. Just trying to image the picture of Fangio and Moss in the "eight-wheeled" Mercedes W196 back in 1955. But obviously I failed. Sorry.

But, as stated above, I in fact saw the six-wheeled Tyrrell P34 win 1-2 at Anderstorp in 1976!

Great news concerning the Vanwall (1955) shells. Does this count for the Ferrari 625 (1955) as well?

Ian H - do look forward to this book. It is on a top five favorite list on my shelf.

I take it down and read all over again each second or third month. Enjoy....

Scottish blue to honour JYS? New to me.....

On my own photos from Zolder and Anderstorp 1973, the side panels on both 006 (Cevert) and 006/2 (Stewart) seems to be black. But OK, these photos are not from our digital age, so they are not that sharp. Standing on the grand stands I always saw them black as well.

By the way, on my Minichamps diecast versions the side panels are black.

As an amateur, but dedicated Tyrrell researcher I would like to hear more about sourches for the Scottish version.

Ian H - I think we fully and 100 percent missunderstand each other. I am not stating that the sides panels were black, just saying to my knowledge there were so.

If they indeed were dark blue I would accept that on the spot. Just wanted to hear your arguments for it. I will pull "Winning is not enough" from my shelf and start investigation once more right away. Being a Tyrrell enthusiast I am only searching for the truth.

Agreeing with Tony it is your car, paint it the way you want it. I here and now will pull out of this topic. My Queens English seems not good enough to participate in any more discussion.

Happy New Year, Holger

and may uncle Ken with the huge, guffawing laugh rest in peace.

Nuvolare - Zolder 1973 was my debut on live attendence at a Grand Prix as well. Great show and even greater performance by the Tyrrell twins.

Been a fan ever since.....
