I need some help from somebody who might know how to fix a problem I have with my PC. A few weeks ago malware got in somehow and nearly gave me a heart attack. Months and months of work I feared was about to be lost. I sent the machine away to be fixed and was pleased and very relieved to find that the guy had managed to retrieve all that I thought had vanished.
The problem I have now is that i'm unable to upload photo's to Photobucket or anywhere else for that matter. Every time I try and upload a pic it tells me that shockwave flash has crashed. Has anyone else had a similar experience and does anybody know how to fix it? I'd be grateful if some kind soul would step forward and put me out of my misery!

Thanking you in ancticpation.

Graham.

Should be able to just uninstall and re-install Shockwave. Methodology for doing that depends a little on the operating system and browser that you're using.

Assuming some version of Windows and you're running a full version of shockwave you should be able to uninstall it from 'Add/Remove Programs' on the Control Panel. Then download and reinstall a fresh version from Adobe website.

If you're only running a plug-in version for your browser, you should be able to simply update the plug-in. The trouble is, all of the different browsers access their plug-ins or add ons a little differently.

Hopefully someone will be able to help you through it Graham.

Well without Photobucket i'm certainly stumped as far as posting pictures on here. I've removed flash and re-installed it, but it's just the same. It's telling me some plug in or other is missing. And I have no idea what it is.

Hello Graham,
It may be that the PC-guy has installed some anti-spyware software that is blocking either Shockwave or Java Scripts. Do the menus and pop-ups work ok on http://photobucket.com/
On the upload panel (when you get the message about missing plu-in) try "right-clicking" and see if there is an option to enable access.

If there is a firewall active, try closing that down and re-try photobucket (but restore the firewall afterwaards).

Kind regards, Leo
