If so, have you ever had an entire lane go dead?

I did, so I decided to check the layout, track piece by track piece, to discover where the problem lies.

Leaving the power supply on, I pulled the wireless power track piece out of the layout and tried a car on this singular piece of track only, on the dead lane, holding the back wheels off the track. The car ran, full power.

I then re-connected the power track to the rest of the layout and the previously dead lane worked fine. As if there had never been a problem.

This seems strange to me, and a bit troubling, because I'm planning a permanent layout, where pulling out track pieces isn't an option.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this, on what could cause this and how I can troubleshoot / solve this more permanently?

Thanks Chris
