hi Ade
as you have already done some of the upgrades you should have the bootloader installed on your pc and if it's all installed correctly you should have an icon that appears on the desktop wich is the default screen on your pc.

If you have this then double click on it as you would if using ssdc, there is some writing that asks if you want to search for new firmware, press for yes and download it..

It is then just a case of holding down a few buttons on the apb to install it..

You can then double check your efforts by plugging in the cra$*y tower and when you power up it will show what firmware is installed..

Ps.. Dont forget to power down before removing or plugging in the apb to pc usb lead otherwise it will fry itself..

hi
you are so close Ade but once you have the bootloader open with the right firmware version showing you need to hold some buttons down on the apb before pressing the program button.

Have a look on the ssdc website and click the frimware icon as there is a how to on there. I have to refer to this every time i do mine..

i) Make sure that you have your cable plugged in connecting the PC and APB.

ii) Click on the bootloader icon and you should see this:
View attachment 10045

iii) Hold ▲ on the APB and plug in the power when the LEDs light up release ▲ ..... you now have about 15s to complete the next bit

iv) Choose your Serial port, Choose your Hex file, Click on Program

v) Wait until the message says that it has closed the Port

vi) Unplug the APB, disconnect the PC cable and plug in the screen.

vii) Reboot the APB and watch the screen for the firmware version.

Hi Greg
yep I have done all that 5 times now.
when I plug in base all the red lights come on apart from the 4th one and stay on
the screen on pc does not change and then the lights on base all go out.
just read the rest of this on SSDC.
( If all is ok you will see status information scrolling in the bottom window,
and the LEDs on the powerbase will cycle up and down. The status will then stop scrolling and show "Done".)
I dont get any of this.

Bit confused here Ade. Have you released ▲ before clicking on the Program button?

One minute is far too long.

Before you power up the APB, you must have the PC cable connected and ▲ pressed.

When you power up the APB as soon as the LEDs start to flash - release ▲. At this stage, the LEDs will scroll like Knight Rider. If this does not happen then you have not done it correctly.

If they are scrolling, then you only have 15 seconds to load the hex file and click on the Program button ..... this is plenty of time so don't panic.
