Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had ever used either one of these bodies to convert into a slot car?

I'm thinking of getting on of each as a couple of projects over Christmas

What I want to know is if they are any good? If you click one the pictures in the link, they look like nice bodies to use.

Supra

RX7

I'm just a bit weary because I bought a Revell GTO once for the same purposes and none of the small parts fitted very well and had some imperfections in the moulding

Thanks

Thanks Datto, that looks very crisp

I've ordered one of the Supra's
Im planning to do some body mods to each one and what I have in mind for the Supra is a little bit simpler than what I plan for the RX7.

So I'll see how it goes and if it goes well, then I will order the Mazda

Cheers!

AM, the Arii kits are very well finished. I have a pile of them stocked up for rainy days. Hmmm.... given the number of them sitting on the shelf I hope those rainy days don't all run together.

I am the 'other guy' that built up an Arii Isuzu, I have also built a Toyota Toyopet rally car and a Nissan Skyline and a Toyota Gloria. These are nice kits to 'kitbash' with anything from a simple Pendle PCS32 chassis to something a wee bit quicker. My only issues have been with some rather grotty windows on Gloria and Skyline kits.
Oh and my Bellet is a real rice rocket.

Have fun

It runs a scale auto FF style 25K slimline motor with a brass chassis using BWA brackets, running gear is slotit and vintage Supershells wheels and it flies!

Hi I have a couple of these kits and love em
My 1st was a 240Z on a PCS 32 chassis

Actually only part way throught the 2nd one which is a Supra which has been pretty heavily modified

This one is on a PCB chassis with a Slot It Pod

I've also got a couple more waiting in the wings
Cheers

Thanks all, those look great

Looking forward to getting my Supra. Is the PCS 32 chassis the best thing to put under them? I'm completely new to this so just looking for something easy to work with. Performance isn't an issue at this moment in time

Cheers

If you are just starting the PCS is a good point
For me it gives reasonable performance with a little tuning
On the Supra and RX7 there is enough room at the rear (abit of hatch) to fit mounting posts to match up to the PCS chassis
For mounting posts I just used some sprue from the Arii kit Screwed onto the cahssis then cut to fit body at right height and glued in place while it was scewed to the chassis
Cheers
