Hi Alan, I improvised My trees like the rest of scenery (and Track) MOST of it with NO cost !!!
I had chance to find to MDF in the street for example !!

Well, about the trees ... First , I used all sawdust done by routing , I puted all inside a plastic box and droped a misc of green paint and water, made a big mixture of this and let it dry... when is dry, destroy the "balls" to get again the sawdust texture but green !!
(this I use too mahe grass and trees, same process with brown paint for ground)

The base of the tree are the end pieces of a spanish local plant who looks like bamboo , is yelow and dry, piece fron the top end look like a pine ... this, or any other piece of dry wood who have a nice form from the scale .
I put on it a mix 50/50 water and wood white glue and pass it inside my green sawdust , after that I let it dry and fix it with cheap enamel for hair in spray.
The base of the tree is a simple piece of branches I empty with the dremel to thread the reste inside.
I dont know if all this is very explicit, but next time I'll do (soon) I'll make a pictures tutorial

I had never done all this without forums like SlotForum.com , S.c.i. and a spanish one (slotadictos).

Those figures are great... very impressive. It would be quite interesting to see a series of step by step pictures with some examples of how you transfer some soldiers to those awsome looking guys...
For us who are not as artistic as you...

but seriously - nice job!
