Just a few photographs of a DBR1 that i've been asked to build. This is one of the three cars that entered Le Mans 1958. The decals are just a test. hence the incorrect number. Paint is the usual Ford Forest green, but in this instance the guy who made it up got it spot on. All three team cars will be built as a set.

Hiya chaps. No lacquer on this one Marlon. As i've stated before I think too much paint can take the sharpness away and flood the shutlines. The paint i've used on this is a Polyester basecoat which defies any kind of polishing and as I think these three will end up in a display cabinet I think they'll be fine.
Rob, one in the bag for you.

there really beautiful builds, but going back to the how low can you go thread, they need a slight forward rake, just a mill or two to drop the nose and bring the wheels up into the arches, then they,d be perfect. john.

John you have eyesight like a Japanese sniper. They're sitting on PCS chassis right now but eventually they will be mounted on a photo etched nickel silver item, which will allow the bodies to drop just that wee bit.

Just beautiful, perfect crisp paintwork with just the right amount of gloss and perfect, sharp panel lines. Do you put anything into those lines to accentuate them? I've heard people say that a diluted dark wash helps but I've never had the nerve!

Best wishes

Hi Andy. Nope there's nothing at all in the shutlines. I just keep cleaning them out as I go along with a razor saw. Another couple of shots but this time the Salvadori/Lewis Evans No.4 car.

Well spotted Pete. No's 3 and 2 still need a bit more work. As far as driver figures go i've decided along with the client that they will have none. There'll be too much detail in the cockpits and most of it will be hidden by a driver figure.
