Bernard,
Those were licensed from Aurora and the tooling produced in California at K&B. The way it happened from what I was told by John Brodbeck is that when K&B stopped producing the cars in 1967, the tools were modified and sold to the company in Brazil.
Remember that at the time, lots of US companies sold some of their slot car tooling to companies around the world that would be willing to give them anything for it, like the Monogram track tooling to Estrela.

Not to mention those that were official licenses, and those that were a bit less official...

Another great find Bernard, and thanks for the info Philippe.

You're right about the car combo, but and it seems lots of companies had odd pairings in their sets...

QUOTE hi Phillipe, thanks for the information.i wonder why they only bought 2 car molds instead of more.its unusual for a chaparral to race a mustang.thanks, bernard

Well Bernard,
Monogram had a Chaparral 2 and a Mustang in the same 1/24 scale kit...

But seriously, who knows...

QUOTE It would be interesting to see a list of all of the "movements" of licenses sold back and forth across national boundaries. Globalization before its time!
Charles, indeed! Unfortunately we only know so much, and 45 years have gone by, with most involved people either unable to remember their own names or now pushing daisies...

The more we explore these little toys, the more we learn, but there are SOOOO many! Just so that you know, the 1/24 and 1/32 scale American and American derived copies of slot cars at the end of my new book comprises over 2500 of the suckers, and I mean only COMPLETE kits or factory assembled RTR models!

And I am now too old to remember then all, so I have to read my own listing at times!
