That's a good question. My memory says that I forget about the membership charge altogether, but then receive a notification from PayPal that my payment was made. I don't trust my memory, but I also don't delete old emails from the account that gets the payment notification. I could find all three payment notifications, but no "you need to pay" notifications. Unfortunately, the account that gets email from SFI also gets a LOT of spam, so it's trash gets emptied pretty regularly, and doesn't have any messages earlier than this year. I will admit that it's POSSIBLE that I get a notification to pay, and then manually pay... but I don't think I've done that twice and forget that's what happened.

With all this scheisse about the charges, I'm confident I'll remember in 5 months. If I see a "please pay" notification, I simply won't pay, and I'll look for a way to cancel it at that time. If I receive a "thanks for your payment" notification, I will immediate contest it with PayPal.

Greg I see where you paid by paypal on August 2020 for plus.
That is in your records under Store on SFI. Also look at billing info.
My Paypal should be quite similar to yours in Canada as I doo a lot of US purchases too.
On my paypal account I go into settings, then payments, then automatic or recurring payments. That is where you should have active and inactive. You need to go into Active and look for Vertical Scope. It could be under next page or load more. If you find it you can make it inactive by clicking on it and then the option to deactivate it.
Refresh and then check your inactive tab and see if VerticalScope now appears in the inactive file.

Thanks, Bob. I've done exactly that about a dozen times now. It's not in active, nor inactive. It's just not there.

Tell you what, let's just all assume that my memory is bad, and I've actually been manually paying all this time. When August 15th 2021 rolls around, I'll take care of it by not paying it.

Greg from what I see on the forum info and your posted screen shots here is what may be the situation . I say maybe since i cant see beyond your screen shots.
Your payment was made by paypal the transaction was all made the same time the invoice was generated. This leads me to believe it is automatic. Your screen shot of paypal shows no inactive recurring or automatic payments therefore it must be active. The active screen shot dosent show VS in the list. But in the right half of the screen is a button which says see more merchants. I would click that and it should show more merchants on your active list. My suggestion is to keep looking in that area for VS or one of the previous Owners.
Also consider if you have more than one paypal account.
If you can not find the paypal payment to VS for 15€ then i would contact paypal for assistance since that is where the payment was made from.

That "Find More Merchants" button just takes me to their automatic bill payment system. They are trying to encourage me to set up more bills to be paid automatically by PayPal. There are no other merchants in my active, or inactive lists. Sorry.

And as I've said, I can find all three of my past PayPal transactions with VS. None of which show anything other than the previously posted screen shot of a VS transaction. Everything I see indicates that these payments are being made manually, not automatically. As I cannot trust my memory (at least, not any more than any other human), and there are no indications of a recurring automatic payment for me to stop, I must conclude that it's being paid manually. I will know for sure in August.

If anyone would like, I'd be willing to set up a zoom chat just so that someone else can tell me where to look, and I will share my screen the whole time so that they can see what I'm repeatedly saying here. Maybe they'll see something I haven't, but I doubt it.

Hi fellow slotters. Just need to get this out to you all.
It's important so please read it all.
As you are aware we have been having some very annoying issues popping up on the forum for the last while. I have been in constant contact with VS about these issues. Forbidden etc.
And of course our Plus+ membership has been an utter failure lately. Having looked into it and being unable to get it fixed so members actually get value for money or even just the ability to sell items I have concluded it is not fair to existing nor those wishing to purchase and being unable.
So I am asking that no one sign or attempt to sign up for Plus+ , and if you are on the auto payment plan that you cancel your automatic payments.
Plus+ is currently not able to provide any of the good benefits with the exception of the Pendles discount.
Please cancel your auto renewals and do not purchase or attempt to purchase Plus+.

Your team of mods and admin are looking for a way to combat these issues with the least amount of instability possible.
I will keep you updated in our discussions and potential solutions.
Take care, save your money and put it toward a new slot car.
My apologies for this inconvenience and promise we are trying to come up with a viable solution.

I'd like to sell some cars on SlotForum, am not currently a Plus member but will happily pay to become one if it allows me to sell stuff here. However, given Chappy's recommendation that we should not attempt to purchase Plus, is there another way for me (and others) to sell stuff on this forum?

Greg, is it possible that the payment was going out to MAS Media. I have a payment to them for €15 which was last paid in 2013 that is the only thing that has anything mentioning forums and I'm only a member of this forum which requests a payment for anything as far as I'm aware.

Have been unable to be a Plus member for an age. Why isn't the restriction of posting sale ads lifted for those unable to get the Plus stuff? What's the problem with people being able to advertise items for sale?

I can locate all the charges. There are no recurring payments of ANY kind in my PayPal, let alone from anything I could not identify. If it happens again, I'll just contest the charge.

OK... looks like my mystery has been mostly answered...
I will, of course, NOT pay the invoice. Not that I could if I wanted to, as the link results in a "form not found" error message.
Now to watch my PayPal account for a charge that I did not authorize.
