Hi all, have read the review here of the avant slot Lotus Elise GT and its looks and sounds all good, was hoping someone could just outline if it would be a contender against the NSR moslers, I don't mind a mosler but its always nice to have something new and different!
Also It will have the wide NSR wheels and ultra tyres as well.

I have had one for a few months now but haven't been able to challenge the NSRs and Slot. Its that dominate at my club.As you say its nice to try something different but you would have to throw a lot of money at it to make it a winner I think.

You don't say what sort of track you are running, but on copper taped MDF I have yet to find an Avant Slot car that can match the handling of the likes of Slot it/Nsr/Scaleauto etc for me.
I bought the Elise for the same reasons as you, and although its good it isn't a contender for the above IMO. I thought it mght be due to the chassis being way more rigid so I also tried their "soft" chassis for it, unfortunatley it doesn't appear to be much less rigid than the stock one !
It's a pity, because the body is nice and light, and is a great looking car.

you,ve read the review and the guy has got it running slightly under NSR times on a big mdf track . he used the wheels and tyres you suggested and even has a breakdown on cost to get it there. with even more? to come. go for it and even if its not a mosler beater you,ll slill have one fine looking car that can hold its own against most. john

Even with extensive modifying this car did not come any-where near club level performance at our Track, a bit of a dissappointment after its review.....another one of those selective cars for selective tracks me thinks.

Its owner my choose to coment later on his attempts, but no one else in the club bought one in view of its price or performance....or lack of...!
