Thanks Swissracer...I'm new to the hobby (about a year) and really love it. I have carrera track, I started with the Avus set, as I'm a big fan of pre-war racing (rosemeyer, nuvolari, etc). I painted my banked curve as bricks to resemble the "Nordkurve" at the Avus track in Germany. It took awhile, trial & error, but the final look is what I was after. find this forum very informative and glad to be a part.
That bottom picture represents everything that I like about slot cars. Besides its modeling aspects of working with your hands is the ability to capture the excitement of real automobile racing with our heroes frozen in time at the peak of their careers.
Dennis...the laguna pics were from 1999? the AUs are not there permanently, right? did you see the streamlined rosemeyer car run? what was it like? man im jealous.
