I watched the Motors TV replay of the 2003 Bathurst 24hr race on the excellent Mount Panorama track. What a superb race with less than 0.5sec seperating the two Holden Manaros after 24hr of racing. The two cars were from the same team but team orders allowed them to race the last few laps making it an excellent spectacle.

I was never really taken by the look of these cars (Holden Commodore, Ford Falcon etc.) but after seeing these race head to head I'm going to get myself a couple.

Couple of UK stockists hold pairs of the cars for lots of lolly but US retailers have them at very reasonable prices and with the £/$ rate so good makes them a worthy investment.

Anyone know if there are plans for a Oz special Holden Manaro?

Jeremy seemed to like the Manaro when they took it for a spin on Top Gear. Personally, I would rather some manufacturer raided the Bathurst archives and brought us some of the classics.

Matt: one of our club members has made a resin of the Monaro! I have one to build up when time permits. We also sent some to the Tassie Tiger Proxy entrants. If you are interested I can probably source one for you. Contact me of list at: [email protected] if you ar interested.
The cars running at Bathurst are not very similar to the production cars! They have 427 Chevs for power! Don't really fit the race but certainly get the crowd going!
Check out the Pontiac version now available in the US.

Those cars fit the rules just as good as the Mosler, V8 M3 Gtr and some weird Morgan they had. They just couldn't cut it that's all.
One of Holdens garden variety SS commodores still finished in the top ten and anyone can buy one of those.
If anyone needs help with the aussie V8 scalex cars let me know, I can help you.

These cars are alot of fun when you put three or four in a race. They will also run very well with the inline Nascars.

Works out to $42.50 US, cheap and there was only 1200 of each made.

Hi Turismo,

I love the v8's and I've been after a couple at a reasonable price for a while!

Can you help?

I'm based in the UK, and aussie sites are all sold out!

My lad mini bsn has had the twisted idea to get the dremel out and make a couple of BRUTES!!!!

They suit his style of driving more!

G'day Guys,

I spoke with Harry yesterday and he told me that he was temporarily out of stock (apparently a British guy had cleaned him out).

He will be getting more in though, price as 550rs says is very, very reasonable (cheaper than here in Oz).

Hobbyco. would be a good place to check for the two newer releases, a very good company to deal with. ScalexWorld in South Australia should also still have them in stock.

Mind you, Harry may well be stocking the Valvoline and Shell Helix at some point in the future.........

Best Wishes,

Rob Wessling.

Um says he very sheepishly - I am the UK guy. Matt 'del boy' strikes again. Could not resist them at that price (HWR Discussion Brd 1/32) and they gave me an excellent deal as well. Very pleasant comms with Cindy ( I believe she is the business brains behind it). Looking foward to receiving them. Now after the later two releases.

In the UK MRE and Pendle have them but for £85 a pair (to rich for me) and in the US Fantasy Hobbies have them at same price as HWR. Have not checked out Oz retailers but from the US at $30 and a good strong pound (£1 = $1.79) the deal could not be beaten.

$56.00 each here in Oz at www.scalexworld.com. Clive is the man.

Keep in mind anyone who's interested that the second release cars are limited to 1200 each.

$85.00 US plus postage for both

47 pounds plus freight for both.
