Hi, blst, others !

Blst, Davic inventor has now a great opportunity to suggest independent digital standard for slotcars. Can you ask what he thinks about releasing Davic lite specifications for communication protocol and electrical specification. I´m sure that this wouldn´t hurt his business. There´s always people who prefer buying ready-made components. Release of specification would give more recources worldwide for the development of Davic-type decoders and software.

Cheers !

hi,

the industrial Davic would be avalable soon, perhaps for second part of the year. Specifications are always 15 cars, time and lap counting and a X lane changing board for all standard track (ninco, scalextric, scx, etc...). It will be build and sell by CRICCRAC in spain. You'r right Elicend, CRICCRAC was here for 24h du chenay and test the first definive industrial production.

For me and my system, it's only a prototype.

That I know about Davic : the software is "TOP SECRET". For Davic lite too.
It use Microchip Pic for the hardware, but I have no electronic diagram to share.

Sorry, I would build a Davic me too, but without the software, it's impossible.

IMMT, I read the topic on slot car illustrated. It's very good. A new way of thinking is exactly what I think. RC45 is building the first track I have drawn 4 years ago. The DCC roadrail train power is a good idea but I'm sure that it is more expensive than a Davic and performless too.

best regards

Hi, blst!

What a pity!

I think that Davic could have great opportunity competing Scalextric with an open standard. Look at railroad world. RR-DCC is an open standard and decoder manufacturers are still making good money.
Apparently Davic is staying in club-market. There´s no way he can compete with Scalextric at consumer market.

hi !

i think that scalex will be a consumer market but with the most part for children at chrismass...

Club will make a better choice with Davic because more people can run in the same time (15 for davic, 6 for scalex) and you know, in france in club which are equiped by Davic, we are interesded by Scalex digital, but we all are waiting for industrial Davic

scx don't have a lot of fan : no compatibility with other car is a big bad thing !

CricCrac !! yes blst! i had forget them! that's because i know michel and Philip from Mondialtec (best french slot shop!)!!

BLST,

Very nice! That will be a great track once DAVIC is available.

I'm going to try to put together the system you are using now and adapt it to my track. Can you please tell me what kind of solenoid/switch you are using?

Thank you

Hi IMMT,

thanks for the short cut on slot car illustrated, my English is too poor to reply on those topics. You will say to RC45 that there is a big short circuit on his track between right rail and left rail just behind the switch.

for the switching mechanical, I use finder 55 series, and I fixe a manual cut alu corner on the mobil part with a floppy glue.

The result :

BLST,

Thank you again as I appreciate the effort you are putting into our difference in language.

I want to make sure I am seeing this correctly. It appears that your switch goes up and down, not left and right?
