I'm looking for ideas and previous solutions to borders around the board the track sits on. NOT borders for the track itself!

Ideally, I'm looking for something removable (for temporary setups)... but I'm interested in any solution that has been used.

I've just used painted MDF, but the trick was having enough depth on the baseboard itself to be able to screw the outer boards too. There are plenty of plastic extrusions that you could try, try you local uPVC window suppliers. Cheap too as they come in 4(?) metre lengths.

It was mentioned on another thread (I think it was Mr Fs thread) that ping pong nets would make good barriers and could be removed easily, not tried it for obvious rug racing reasons though.

Cheers for the ideas.

I did look at the ping pong nets but most of the brackets I found stuck out about 3/4 inches from the table, leaving a perfect space for the car to drop out!

I've come up with a few ideas for a temporary solution:

Drill some holes in the borders I was using before (wood) and use these clamps through the holes to clamp onto the table.

Drill some vertical holes and use these clamps (assuming the wood is wide enough to take the clamps

Or, my ideal one: use these clamps with some clear acrylic sheets (but the clamps are pretty expensive).
