I have just spent a glorious day at Brands hatch at the Porsche festival. I slipped into the paddock and sat on the pit wall whilst the Gulf 917 and a clutch of Group C cars fired up and went out for a few laps. From the pitwall I watched the cars pass.
I took three rolls of photos and will post a couple when they are developed (sorry, 35 mm here!)
Sorry, they took longer than expected. Hope they are worth the wait!
Apologies for exceeding the image size but these pre-scanned images went from around 70-80 kb to 200 kb when I tried to reduce them to 600 pixels wide! I have some new software which I have not yet mastered I am afraid. I assumed the smaller sized files would be more favourable (?).
Mark - Great photographs and you got into a nice vantage point on the pit wall. I still don't think you can beat good old 35mm but your local Boots processes 7 days a week, there was no need to keep us waiting so long!!
They were certainly worth the wait Mark - great pics thanks
The file size problem may arise because .jpg files can be saved with different amounts of compression. You might be saving the reduced images with less compression than the originals which could strangely enough increase the overall file size! Something to try anyway.
That Rothmans 956 looks remarkably like the version that raced at Kyalami in 82 and if I am not mistaken - it was the same 2 drivers...... The other cars there that year were drive by Ickx/Dell and Schuppan and........... memory fails.....
