I think I was missing when the HPSCC line up photo was taken, so missing from that group is a ScaleAuto Viper (white kit painted up as a 2014 Le Mans version), a converted Carrera C6R 'Vette with original MSC now ScaleAuto chassis and a ScaleAuto MarcVDS BMWZ4 straight from the box.
Also not pictured is this wee beastie....

Built from the ScaleAuto white kit for the Jaguar XKR-RSR GT2, I converted it to the Emil Frey Racing GT3 version with a lot of plasticard and filler and a set of decals from MTR32.
Apologies for no w.I.p photos, I'm usual too busy doing the work to take photos as I go

All the remodelling was around the rear 3/4s, along the door sills and the front wing vents. It isn't 100% accurate in all areas (the bonnet vents are wrong for a start). But all things considered I happy with it and I think its fairly unique

Its a shame the real thing has now been retired after its last and most successful season.

Great cars. Do you do all your own decal printing?
Hi,

All the cars I have built I do my own decals. Canot afford International rates due to our exchange rates, and so I struggle along colour-coding white waterslide paper to the background colours etc.. tedious, but the end result still looks good.

A Forum member has asked to digitise some 1:24 scale cars for him so that he can run them on Carrera track. The first one is a my favourite car of all time - the Porsche 962 made by BRM.

I was pleased that the chassis already had the apertures for the switch and LED that protrude through the chassis, this saved me a lot of time and effort ..

It was just a case of lining up the PCB for gluing into the correct position ....

One last check with the cockpit and the chip was glued down.

The quality of the components and the engineering of BRM cars is hugely impressive. I can see why there is such an interest in this scale. I will be receiving a large parcel of 1:24 shortly for digitising. I will take more interesting photos then.

I picked up a Braha Bentley off the auction site. I'll call to the big brother of the Scalextric offering.
Would anyone care to suggest a (hopefully low cost) chassis to convert to to a slot car?
Scaleauto Home Series was suggested but not sure the wheelbase will be long enough.

TedM would be the man to speak to, he's jusy completed a 2nd Bentley. I'll point him in this direction when I see him at the our club.

Wheelbase of the Bentley is a whisker over 115mm. Max wheelbase of the Scaleauto home chassis 112mm. I think the Sloting Plus stainless steel chassis Ref; SP800001 might suit. It's a good while since I bought one,but I remember it's quite a bit cheaper than the Scaleauto chassis. I think it will be OK,but double check it will adjust up to the right length.

Maybe I can assist. having made three of them

The Plafit 1700 Chassis with the extended baseplate can handle the Braha Bentley no problem. Its known as the Plafit 3 SCA chassis kit, or the SLP1 version. Plus, they're a good couple of Hundred bucks cheaper than the SA.

Searching the net I found the BRM Trans-Am cars have a 115mm wheelbase.
I remember reading somewhere that the Mustang and the Camaro have slightly different real life wheelbases but when squashed down to scale the difference was within 5 mm so the left it is uniform....

Which is one of the reason I don't understand why we don't have more Firebird Trans Ams as its wheelbase and the Camaros are the same...

Other Carrera cars I would suggest just comparing the real cars' wheelbases and when converted to 1/24 (easy if you use a spreadsheet) and that have a scale wheelbase within 1 cm of each other would likely have the same slot chassis length..

Don't forget to check the width though...

Here at North Staffs we've added a 1/24th class for this year, so almost everyone is running Scaleauto with the odd Avant Slot & club Carreras, 22k Motor limit.

I'm just putting together a Plafit chassis's McLaren Mini Z, & a have recently bought a Carrera BMW M1 which am hoping to fit with Frankenslot comp parts.

Robert.

Mustang and Camaro both had a 108" wheelbase in 1969. Someone had put the erroneous information on the wheelbase difference on at least one Slot Car forum.
Isn't Mini Z 1/28 or something like that? More appropriately sized to run with Vanquish cars.
I was told the Carrera DTM chassis has a 115mm wheelbase.

Just a postscript to my post. The Scaleauto 1/24th home series chassis (SC-8500) will, in fact "stretch" to fit a Bentley- I have a BMW M6 fitted with one and it is in fact a tiny bit longer than a Bentley.

Sorry,I forgot!

Hmmm. Just set up a photo, edited it and went to upload it and will be jiggered if I can even find a link to my gallery stash, let alone post the snap.

Anyhoo Wicker Bill, to answer your month old question, the basic Scaleauto chassis has an adjustable, stretchable, wheelbase that will accommodate the Bentley.

I'm ticking along with my conversion at my normal glacial speed but will share, subject to finding my own gallery, my results. When I, er, have some.
