My thanks to all those that attended and of note my trusted RC aficionado Mike Thomson, and in particular David Farrow whom took the time and effort and offer us all bacon butties and burgers - much appreciated and never take for granted.
We had 19 racers, and with lots of racing we managed to finish by 16.00 hopefully making peoples journey home as pain free as possible.
Good to see FLTB racing fraternity come to play, hope to see you all at other national events.
We ran 5 min segmented heats on both the 6 lane raceway and 4 lane scale track and then step up finals on the raceway. The cars performed equally well on both tracks, although you have to make sure you did not have too much grip on the raceway as grip rolls were the common deslot method.
Minis took the top 3 podium positions. My Mini did dominate. It had no weight, I had just ensured everything ran smoothly and was perfectly aligned (tyres were trued but not glued on). It was just planted, and a very easy drive, so I was able to maintain much better cornering speed consistently over the 5 min heats, and had very few offs. I think a BoP in terms of body weight might be required for the class going forward, although the series run in Italy by BRM does not have this and other models seem to be at the front of those events.
Anyway, we will publish the results, and some pics from the day, and hope to see other events where these cars are run.
thanks
Matt
