I've not come across an option to list them alphabetically in the drop-down. However, if you go to the "Manage Bookmarks" option, you can drag and drop the bookmarks into the order you want them and they will appear in that order in the dropdown.

I have recently started using Firefox and, although generally pleased with it, I have an issue with the Bookmarks facility. Can anyone help please?
I don't like using the sidebar so tend to use the dropdown from the top bar.
Problem - I can't get the folders into alphabetical order. The sidebar is is in order but the dropdown is all over the place.
