Has anyone tried to model any of the recent BTCC cars such as the Astra Coupe, Civic R and MG ZS?

I have found a die cast model of the Civic in (approx) 1/32nd scale which could be used as a base, but where would I go from there? I think modifying the steel one as a pattern and then taking a silicone mould and casting resin shells in that might be the way forward but... Any clues anyone (apart from 'don't!').

Also, for those of us with unsteady hands when holding a paint brush, how can I go about getting decals made to suit these? I have no problems creating the artwork on computer... its getting them printed in a format that I can stick on the model thats the problem...

resin or lexan (yes I know) speak to Grah1 about lexan, his bodies actually look like cars instead of an unidentifiable blob!

One of this year's argos scalextric sets is a variation on the DTM set, only with the astra painted as a 2002 BTCC works astra. looks the part. , and with a few small mods, it can probably be made much more accurate.
