Clean the commutator which the twin brushes rest on with meths. You will also see 2 slits in your commutator, clean these out with a pin.
A smoking RX engine can also simply be your motor burning out. If that`s the case you can either bin it or send it away to a railway model specialist (Google The Engineworks of Canterbury, A1 service!) for a refurb.
