Hi guys,

I have chipped over 50 cars with this Scaley chip before, as I like the built in light board. What I'm about to described has never happened before.

I chipped the car as usual...as soon as I put the chassis on the track to test, it flew of like crazy and crashed.

OK. So I reset the PB. Put car back on. Zoooms off. OK. Rewire everything. Still zooooms off. Check braids, check wiring again, check track, basically check everything that I can think of. Still zoooms off!

Put on a different car just to make sure it's not the track....car runs fine, no problems.

Get another chip, install that. No problems.

Anyone experienced that before? Anyone got an idea what is causing this?

Thanks.

, Emailed Hornby Customer Service, lets see what happens....

So roughly that is a 50:1 ratio for the C7006....much better than the pre G Revsion DPR...

This must be an ex Friday the 13th thing....I was racing my GTR-500 happily along tonight and then it suddenly just stopped....

Once again did all the checks etc....raced another car no problems....just to make sure, raced a different car all together....no probs.

Opened up the GTR-500....and lo and behold the N02 Mosfet had the smallest of "marks" on it
....now please correct me if I'm wrong, somewhere on the forum I read that that specific Mosfet controls the motor?

This mark is sooo small I mean you REALLY have to look well to see it...on closer inspection it looks more like a hole.....what is going on?????

Thanks Sean....I am. I usually run it at 15V. It's a PB-Pro with SH...usually quite a few LC's etc but this current track only has 2. I'm only racing by myself most of the time. Guess I should have turned it down a bit.

But it's quite peculiar as I have been racing it at 15V for some time with no issues till this weekend....

Friday night the first car I chipped, the chip didn't work out of the box (as seen in the previous posts)...last night this one just died...and I don't believe in all this mumbo-jumbo superstitions.... Guess I've just been lucky up until now!

Must be, because my rugby team won for a change yesterday!
Their luck turned for the better and mine for the worst.

Thanks guys!

I got the post that RichG put on here were he sooped up a C7006, so I'm going to try and revive this chip with that method and in the process reprogram it with Ian's code, all the bits ordered, if you want I can report back on how it went?

Hmmmmmm.....new one for me tonight.... Just chipped a Carrera GT3 Porsche....

Put the car on the track....pull the trigger, nothing happens for about 0.5 second...then the car speeds off for the same amount of time I kept the trigger in...did this a few times to confirm...Sooooo, if I keep it in for 1 second, the car sits for 0.5 second, then speeds off for 1 second....some clear delay there for some reason....

Other cars are working 100% on the same track....any ideas guys? Or is this "phone Hornby and get a new chip"?
Again.

You know, us lot complain a lot about Scalex/Hornby but their customer services support is really quite good. My 2 new C7006 just arrived.

You have to give credit where it's due.
Thanks Hornby....but will you start listening to us about especially new digital track bits please?????
