Hi all. I got my kids a Carrera Digital 124 set for Christmas and things were working great - tons of fun. We have had a couple issues.

First, I can't program the cars anymore. We have 4 of them, all Carrera digital and all had been working fine. I should add that programming the cars to a controller was never easy, always had to try many times to get it to work...this is the "click lane change twice" -> "lift nose of car" -> "click lane change twice again". Now I have tried doing this so many time I have lost track and I can't get any of the cars to be programmed. I have two radio controllers that are set to number 1 and number 2. I replace the batteries. I have turned the whole system on/off numerous times...no luck. Any ideas? Is the box bad? Is the receiver bad? Are both controllers bad? I wouldn't think all 4 cars are bad.

Second, when they were working, there were two cars that would not exceed a specific speed. Nice and safe but kinda boring. I tried to reset the speed of the box and the cars with no luck.

Is my system bad, or is digital just kinda quirky?

Any help or thoughts would be welcomed...Thanks.

Digital isn't really that finicky. The two click/lift/two click timing does take some getting used to, but it gets to be fairly easy after a while.

There are two types of wireless controllers. If yours are the new style with flashing LEDs on top, did you reprogram them when you changed the batteries? They lose their ID when the batteries are pulled, and need to be reprogrammed to an ID. I think that may be your problem, because all of the cars couldn't have lost their IDs.

Also- please don't take offense at some obvious suggestions- did you check the wireless receiver cable's fit in the power base? Also, remember that the wireless controller must have a clear line of sight to the receiving tower. When I first started, this often bit me when programming cars, as it's natural to lean towards the track during the click/lift/click process.

I think I have the new type with the LED on top. I will reprogram those. I have double checked all connections and will make sure I have a clear site of the receiving tower. Thanks for your thoughts, I will let you know how it goes.
