I would say it's impossible to have a track that's TOO big! That one on the other hand is awful close to being too big!

Just a few more centimeters & I think it would be TOO BIG!

Kinda looks like the track designer saw the Suzuka layout once... and tried to wrap it around itself and reinterpret it.

Beautiful layout... looks like a lot of fun... uninterrupted view of the track for the drivers, too.

But personally I wouldn't do the bridge and I really think they should do a lot of trees somewhere on that track!!!!

 

This has always been my fave track since I saw it a couple of years ago. The Italians have some really awesome circuits.

 

I have seen that track before and tried to make a 2 lane small copy of it, worked nice but not practical for me

Thanks for the link, but it suggests that it's located near Soragna in Italy: "L'Ayrton Senna slot club è situato a Soragna in provincia di Parma". Nice pictures on their www site, but the size is a bit overwhelming to me.

 

I guess the informer thought the PR on the pics stood for Puerto Rico.

 

Those two pics are of slightly different tracks:
- there's no space for the second grandstand on the front straight of the second picture
- there are two curves on the side opposite the main straight that "stick out" further on the first picture than the second

So maybe there's two versions...

 

I would say it is two different tracks of the almost same layout.
The scenery also isn't the same on the two pictures!

I'm sure that someone from Soragna, Italy would post something, but it's a Polistil track with some hand made parts.

I agree with Rene. Those photos are different. Perhaps it is the same track but in a different location? Maybe they had to move clubhouse.

Also, its not a figure of 8 so the lane equality would be way out. The flyover gives the illusion of a figurte 8 but infact, it's a C shape track fundamentally.

 

Here is a reply to the same post I placed on another slot car site. This fellow has raced on the track in the first picture I posted that started this thread. Here is what he had to say.

"Actually the track is in Northern Italy, not too far from the Ferrari museum. I had the opportunity to run that track last year and it is even better that the pictures show. It is made of Polistil plastic track which is something like Carrera.

The track is housed in a key club in an industrial building outside of town and sees action at almost any hour of the day or night. When I ran it, laps times were in the 20 second bracket for a stock Slot.it car and it took most of the evening to become comfortable racing there. The track seems even longer in real life than in the photos.

One of the club members is none other than Maurizzio Ferrari of Slot.it."

 

You want to talk to john secchi of north london fame. he's from that part of Italy originally and I know he has been to the club.

He told me........that the local council PROVIDED the premises!

 

I would say it's the same track but with some straights removed and the scenary moved around. The removed straights account for the missing grandstand and they both have same toy/model crane on them.

The earlier comment about not having a bridge- how would you make the lanes the same length?

Race in heats and swap lanes.
Lane 1 and 6 will always be the worst lanes to drive - bridge or no bridge!
