Greetings chaps,

Father Xmas prosduced some interesting developments by off-loading or "dumping" excess stock of Carrera Evolution Sets and track packs for Xmas, and at VERY attractive pricing I might add..

I fell into a never-ending moment of weakness for at least a week... HAD to get rid of some of my hard-earned cash.. So Off I went.. Purchased a Monza Set and about 6 boxes of additional track packs..

Having raced on this in Belgium at IMCA races, I decided it was an opportunity I couldn't miss, also allowing to run 1/24 momo/TSRF true scale cars with my other cars..

Darainbow then re-enforced my doubts with an excellent report on the three available systems, so I know I've got something worthwhile to build now. 9Plus he has an excellent track to boot..)

I am now trying to source about 4 Lane Changers with related bits and controllers, black boxes etc, and possibly a few additional tracks, so that I can build the ultimate track I can have in the limited space I have.. My request thus is aimed at anyone who can please pass on contacts and Webshhops who currently have Carrwera Stock and can Post Internationally please chaps...

Beppe, this doesn't mean I won't build the digital Woddie right now, but this is an easier, and more practical approach for now..

Wishing you all a VERY Festive New Year, and may 2005 be everything you hope it will be.

Regards

Al, it is great that Carrera is (back) in the country. I saw these sets and I must say that if I saw them before I started with my wood track, it would have been a tough decision regarding which way I would go. I did manage to get the Porsche and I got the Enzo for Xmas. All the Reggies and Toys'r'us' are sold out here in Jo'burg.

I hear you...
Ps, Excellent Box design, makes me remember my first hinged tabletop track a few years back..
Honestly, just had enough of all the required tweaking and tuning to make cars work on wood.. I'm honestly exhausted, and just want to mess around now.. My ULTIMATE answer would be a way to put steel down UNDER the copper.. but can't find the solution.. Ho hum...

Our branches still got some sets here.. But got enough already, I need the Lane Changers now...

Keep well and forza with the track..

Regards

Al

Hi Alan,

I understand : the flesh is weak

Not a bad decision, though - my suggestion is indeed to get a few LCs (not more than 4 !), the control unit and 4 cars

This will allow you to cut your teeth in MCPL - in a few months, my bet is on Søren & Co. (or others) producing an open source digital package, and you'll be able to convert your entire stable

Or, by that time you might decide to dump the whole thing on E-bay, and switch to something more radical...

Ciao

Hi Beppe,

was expecting more of a RAP over the knuckles than that response...

Now, I agree entirely with your suggestions.. the next questions...

From where???

Checked Rad trax, their site seems to loop into some message about their discounts...
No one in the UK (Sean or Mark) seem to have it..
Carrera don't respond..

Where to from here??

Do you have any connections??
