Hi y'all!
Finally got around to doing something I've been threatening to do for a while, grafting a scalex chassis under the Carrera Plymouth Barracuda.

I carved up a Scalex Mustang (the white version) for the chassis and interior. This Mustang was the fastest car around my track (7.5 seconds flat) so I was pretty nervous about ruining such a good car.
Once I got the Dremel fired up, there was no turning back!

Using the 'Cuda's front pan and rear panel assemblies as the mounts, I glued these into place for "fit" before I used epoxy putty to make them solid enough to handle some racing. I cut the centre out of the Carrera interior (hey that rhymes!) and grafted in the Mustang interior minus the dash so it still looks proper Mopar. Only trouble was that the whole thing gave the 'Cuda a 20gram weight disadvantage. Best time I got out of it was 8.25!! After all that work it had to go on a crash diet, so I substituted a flat interior and half body to even things up. Hello 7.5's again

So now it needs a paint and a livery to race against the Scaley Camaro's and Mustangs. I've seen the Blue Mopar liveries of Dan Gurney and Swede Savage (and I can get those decals from Pattos), but I was wondering if anyone knows of other teams that raced these in other series, even in recent historic series?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

Those blue ones are the only Cudas that were ever raced, so no other liveries available.
If you let you're imagination wander a little though, you can paint it lime green and put #77 on it, then it would look like the Dodge Challenger Sam Posey raced in the series. The grill wouldn't be right, so that's where your imagination would come into play. Go to this link for some cool pics of the car

Thanks Dickie. Nice link. Hmmmmm decided on the Swede Savage car.

An interesting thing about the body swap. The Plymouth is wider than the Mustang and Camaro, so we gat a bit more door banging when it gets loose on corners

Cheers
