QUOTE (GBMark @ 15 Jun 2004, 08:49)Crazy-Chris, the 2002 Sauber looks huge next to the Ferrari and Scaleys F1's, seems out of scale to me (oh no, not that old chestnut
). Does the new Sauber include updated bodywork or is it just a re-livery ?
Well, that's easy to explain:
The sauber is not a 2002 version, it only came out in the year 2002. In reality, it's the 2001 version.
The same applies to the Ferrari: It is the 2002 version, and come out in 2003.
Because the real F1 reglement had some changes from 2001 to 2002, the Ferrari's axles are not as wide as the Sauber axles. Therefore, the Sauber looks somewhat oversized in comparison to the Ferrari.
The same issue with the BMW-Williams F1: 25703 and 25704 came out 2003, the represent the 2002 car and fit to the Ferrari.
The older BMW-Williams 25437and 25438 came out 2002, represented the 2001 car and fit to the older Sauber.
Some more Sauber stuff:
1. The first one. 19xx model, come out 2000. Really ugly. Only old technology
25423
2. The next one. 2001 model, came out 2003. Body is the same as the Mclaren 25457 & 25458, only different painting and spoilers. This car is available in old and new technology.
25459 & 25460
3. The newest one. Not out yet. Same body as 25457, but different painting. maybe different spoiler, I am not sure at that point.
25723 & 25724
