Loving the monochrome!

First car this year was for a family race. Over Christmas my grand kids had such a great time racing some Carrera Digital stuff that I have "inherited" from a fellow Austin Slot Car Club member that I decided to round out a DTM field so that I had similar cars from a class that I could get very close in performance. (The gap between cars during the holiday race became so clear that I knew I had to level the field to avoid the tussles for the "fast car".)

Thus, the Audi RS 5 #33 joined the new-to-me stable. Shout-out to Electric Dreams for making sure I had this (and a bunch of parts for our upcoming Slot.it Group C race) in time for the new year's weekend!

Ha! I guess my interpretation was cars bought for this year. Delivered on th 30th, maiden voyage on the 1st.

My first car of 2023, a Scalextric Porsche 962. This is from the same sets as the red 962 I received at the end of 2022 but without the light fittings.

I would like 1 or 3 more at some point, maybe with a Sauber Mercedes (i only have 2 of them from Scalextric).

My first purchase of a complete car in 2023. The driver needs to be glued in and a windscreen will have to be made, but it's a fair representation of an early 250F.

As my slotting chum, Nicholas, and I travelled to Swindon yesterday in his Silver Mercedes, I felt inspired to get a little more up to date. We used to race Ninco cars at club level a few years ago, and thought they were rather good. They've been superseded now, of course, but they're nice models and perfectly good enough for lappery around The Mess.

I like the Ninco Mercedes, it's such a stunning car. Does the Maserati have a Penelope Pitlane chassis?

You both should try the new CLK by Revoslot Laurence, they are beautiful and worth every penny already out of the box, fact you won’t event have to remove magnets as they come separately.

I agree with you, Daniel. They're beautiful. I would have bought one at the slot show yesterday, but there weren't any for sale. I will look out for a blue one at the Gaydon show later in the year.

Had quite forgotten about this until a couple of minutes ago. It's another Swindon purchase. All four tyres are shot and the colour scheme is about as enticing as chicken pox, but a splash of paint and a set of tyres should improve it.

Yes, the 250F's chassis is a Penelope Pitlane unit. I'm quite a fan of them.

Technically they arrived in 2023 rather than bought…

The Reprotec Cobra was an impulse buy on eBay while the XJS was ordered direct with Scalextric so long ago I had forgotten all about it.
