Can you change the standard scalextric bearing for the brass ones?

Yes, namely Scalextric brass bearings.

Contact Slot32 or Pendle. They should be able to send you some overnight.

Why not change them for real roller-bearing sets from Cartrix? Contact your local stockist or see the Gaugemaster Website
