Having recently been inspired by Swiss' Nissan Skyline conversion, I managed to get hold of a ARII Japanese kit 1/32 scale of a Mazda '91 Efinin RX-7 from Ebay (I also purchased the Skyline kit, but that is a future project).

After scanning the pages of various slot suppliers, I was wondering if anyone had a cost effective way of marrying the plastic shell of the kit to a suitable slot chassis?

Firstly I thought of modifying a Fly Venturi chassis, but I was wondering if the adjustable Slot-it HRS Chassis would do the job, but how to fix the shell to chassis, because the plastic kit has no mounting posts like a standard Fy or Scalextric shell has? Help!

Also does anyone have any images of RX-7s racing, which I can use as reference for a paint scheme?

Cheers

Hi Mark ,
the slot it chassis is a good choice and comes complete with sidemounts which glue inside the body the body then just springs over the mounts . Alternativley if o choose a pan type chassis like the venturi then two wood blocks glued inside the shell and a couple of screws shoulld suffice .
Take a look on my web site and the uk proxy site youll get a few ideas.

Thanks Graham for the advice, I took a look at those links, very interesting stuff.

I think I will go with the Slot-it chassis as I have had experience with them, in the form of a Topslot Jag XKR kit, but I didn't know about the mounting posts. I will order the chassis tomorrow and hopefully post some pics on this forum soon.

Cheers
Mark
