Chip B2 or C

Hi again, everybody;
thumbsup2.gif

I have a question, in my last purchase of C chips, for my oxygen system, (SI-0201C1), when I have registered the car in the application, it has been registered as Car IC B2, on the other hand the rest of the cars come out as Car IC C.

Do you think they were wrong at the store?

The other question I have is whether it is correct that I do not put anything in the "version" section, in any of the cars it indicates the version.

I also attach photos of a car with IC C / chip and another ICB2, is there any difference?

Thank you.

Last week I sent back to Slot.it a Chip C for the same reason, it was seen has a B2 in the app. But other chips I've registered after were identified properly.

Let see if Slot.it had a look on the chip I sent. I wonder if its a app issue.

I think for now it's not a big deal because functionalities between to chip B2 and C1 are the same.

The mis-identifed C chip was the first one you have registered with the new app release?

To have information display in the fileds 'Version', 'ID' and 'O2 MAC', you must have the car connected to the app (not the case in your screenshot).

An important question

The chip having an issue, was it registered correctly as type C with the old app, and now is shown as type B2, or is registered as B2 from new?

Hello, well yes, as you say, it is the first with the new version of the application.
Thanks.

Hello, I think I have registered it as the previous ones, as C, but now (with the new application) it shows what it marks in the screenshot.
In case it's my mistake, do I cancel it and register it again?

Hello again Atobit, with the car online, I can not get the version.
And I have tested it on different cars.

Hi Tony,

This is because you need update the chip B2 firmware with the 3.15 version. Yours is 3.10.

After you'll get this:

Good Morning,

I still have the doubt, I bought a type C, but they gave me an IC B2, (I do not know if by mistake), there is no problem in terms of operation, and the price is very similar.

I think that with type C, it cost me less to register in the App., On the other hand with B2, first DFU to put version 3.15 and then register.

Once registered, the rest of the functions I will not notice the difference at all, right?

Hi Toni,

Beside the shape and connectors, I've not notice any difference in function between the C and the B2.

If there are, maybe someone can tell us what it is?
I guess one clear difference is that the C1 decoder can read track packets for SSD and D132/D124 as well as running wireless i.e. the C1 decoder can be programmed for native Scalextric and native Carrera if required. My understanding is that the B2 decoder is wireless only and cannot read track packets.

In oXigen mode (what Dr C refers to as wireless) there should be no difference between a B2 and a C1.

When used as an oXigen chip, C and B2 are equivalent.

In addition to that, C can run natively as a SSD or D132 unit.
Hello, I don't know how to explain what happens to me with 3 chips. I put a photo to give some clue.

They are 3 like this. I don't know if it's C or B2. Although in one of them I managed to update with 3'15. In another I never succeeded and in another when I was already disconnecting it stayed there and in the end I had to exit the app (nRF) and turn off the chip. Also say that with the app (slot.it) none of the chips were ever paired. (Device not found)
