Are you running with mags?

What size motor is it (speed)

 

Hi its got a 21000 rpm motor and the magnet is at the front of the motor towards the pickup .

 

That's a lot for a standard chip, I'll be interested in how it lasts. The MSC is a nice looking car and usually found for less than £30

 

Current is the killer of chips ........

So it's not just the rpm of the motor but the current (amps) it draws, but with a magnet fitted is it not a safe bet that any 21.5k motor will push an unmodded chip hard enough that the chips life is significantly shortened?

Oh and it's not just current that can kill a chip, my haste has killed a few when I've connected the wrong wires in the DPR socket

 

There are many variations in the components used that it is very much a movable feast. Some high revving motors have a low current draw (cheapy Mabuchi) some have high draw (Black Arrow). Some components are better than others at resisting the ravages of racing ......... it can be likened to a game of Russian Roulette ................. well, do you feel lucky?

 

Hi guys I think I must be very very lucky ,I know a very kind man that repairs chips I think we are all so lucky. Any like a lot of the cars I have its not very often I fry a chip mostly the one,s I send to Greg are cheap one,s I got off of ebay or swapmeets , any way back to business the mcs metro 6r4 has a lot less magnetic down-force than the scalextric metro 6r4 to see what I mean use a pit straight place the scalextric metro 6r4 on their and pick to car up by the body and the track comes with it ,when I do that to the mcs metro 6r4 the track stay on the bench and the car lift up so thats why I think im very very lucky , its the same I find with my slot-it ,mr slotcar, ninco and avant slot cars. The only other one that have strong magnets I find are scx and carrera slot cars, I hope this makes scene it sounded good in my head as I was writing it.
