UK Slot Car festival 2011
We need to choose which session to have when, I'll sort this by popularity. The most popular will be at the mid point of the event, and the workshops will be on the hour every hour starting at 11am and last one at 4pm. I'm guessing they will be around 15 minutes. And we may video them if it is practical. The 6 sessions we have are:

SSDC how to optimise settings for your circuit
SSDC pace car setting
Electrifying an XLC flipper (demo)
PB-ProSH, a look inside
MIH In-CarPro demo
Velleman board connection to the PC + SSDC and how it can be wired up to provide track lights

Because I'm sure most people would like to see them all I'll let you have two votes, so choose your top two

Popularity list is as follows:

SSDC how to optimise settings for your circuit
SSDC pace car setting
Electrifying an XLC flipper (demo)
MIH In-CarPro demo
Velleman board connection to the PC + SSDC and how it can be wired up to provide track lights
PB-ProSH, a look inside

But I have a problem... Whilst it is deemed acceptable to have little plastic missiles whizzing around a track at breakneck speeds, the management are saying that warming up a soldering iron constitutes a health and safety risk.

So I will have to do some before and after stuff like they do in the cookery programmes for the flipper mod and for the MIH chip mod.

Maybe I should video in advance? Waddya think

Unfortunately I don't think I can make the festival so all videos will be greatly appreciated anyway.

The only workshop I'm not too fussed about is "PB-ProSH, a look inside".

But I am very interested in all of the others.

So do a risk assesment and then proced with the soldering iron anyway
all you have to do is identify the risks and how you will address them and its all good to go

But please setup a video on a tripod and video them all anyway please

Isn't it great to be british.... Hot soldering irons should not be demonstrated...

Maybe its to prevent a resurgence in manufacturing in the uk...

The date for the event was announced the week after i booked for 16 friends to go to centre parcs that weekend... so video's would be great for me!!!

From a future value point of view (and because I cannot attend due to distance and airfare), videos of what you do at the fair would be appreciated.
Especially if they are posted on the forum afterwards.

What you are doing to promote/forward digital racing is greatly appreciated by me, and others I am sure.

Cheers, and have a good time!

OK, I will wrap up the poll tonight. At this point it is equal pegging for first between the velleman baord, SSDC optimisation and SSDC pace cars. Electrifying a flipper and MIH code demo are close. PB-ProSH is off the radar so I might drop that one.

Thanks for your inputs guys! And for those that have not yet voted then this is your last opportunity
