Please could you let me know if you have a preferred way of removing old glue from wheels before glueing on new tyres. I was thinking of sanding off but is there a better way.

Both of the above, or stick the wheels on the truer (lathe) get it spinning just touch it with one of those green scourer things

nail vanish remover is mostly acetone, which is what proper super glue remover is, put it on let it soak and it softens it up. I think a lot of modern nail varnish removers are acetone free, so they or may not work.

Just soak over night in acertone but no longer works well.

Do not leave in too long (several days) as this can take the polish of the wheels.

I remove as mush rubber as I can prior to dunking.
