There was another healthy turnout for last night's meeting with lots of fun filled races.

The standard of driving is surprizingly good for this group of casual racers, especially so considering that their pit equipment seems to consist of nothing but bottles of strong alcoholic beverage.

I came second-last, sober, and only a point clear of the wooden spoon position. This was after winning at Manor Farm on Monday!
Dave was the predictable winner. He is a classy driver, and it is his track, after all. If we don't let him win he might not invite us back!

Here are a couple of vids:
Revell small saloons

DTM's

Other classes raced on the night were, Carrera Vintage NASCAR, Scalextric 4WD Ford Focus Rally, and Scalextric modern F1 (pre FF motors)

The next club car round will be on December 16th, a week earlier than usual to avoid Christmas week.

Our 2009 "Club Car" Championship will be run on every fourth Tuesday of the month, commencing 27th January. As the title suggests, cars (and controllers) will be supplied by the club. Drivers may use their own controller if they prefer.
Race fees are £3.00 per meeting.

The next meeting is scheduled for 22nd December 2009.

There are five different groups, or classes, per meeting, and all competitors have four races (one on each lane) with each class, making 20 races each. Each race is of 10 laps duration.

Points are scored in each race, four for first, three for second, etc. Marshalling is simply a case of removing de-slotted cars from the track, "crash and burn" being the race format. In order to give them a chance to learn the track, novice drivers will be re-slotted if they crash.
At the end of each meeting, the points are added up to decide the overall positions.

Each race night will be scored with 10 points for the winner, and 8 for second, then 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, with all other places scoring a point just for making the effort! There are 11 rounds in the Championship, from which each driver's best nine scores will count.

For more info, please PM me, or phone Peter on 01962 866045, or David on 07854 043 642. Alternatively use the email contacts given in the AAWSCC heading section.

Round one of our inaugural Championship is now complete. We had a turnout of seven racers, which is just about right. We normally get six, but tonight's numbers were boosted by a new member, Lee.
I won't comment on individual races, other than to note that Lee won the first race of the night, which was of course his very first race on the track. That had us worried! It was not to be though, and by the end of the evening he was in last place. He enjoyed his night despite this, and vowed to come along to our Goodwood meeting in two weeks time.

The final points were as follows:
Dave (who else!) 70
Peter 53 (7 wins, takes 2nd on count back)
Andy 53 (4 wins)
Graham 47
Tony 44
Alan 43
Lee 38

Championship Positions after round one:
Dave 10. Peter 8. Andy 6. Graham 5. Tony 4. Alan 3. Lee 2.

Round two of our inaugural Championship is now complete. We again had a turnout of seven racers, even though Tony was missing, because we gained another new member; Ruben.

The final points were as follows:
Dave 77 (boring!)
Lee 65
Graham 64
Andy 60
Peter 56
Ruben 51
Alan 47

Championship Positions after round two:
Dave 20. Peter 12. Andy 11. Graham 11. Lee 10. Alan 5. Tony 4. Ruben 3.

It's nice of you all to let Dave win on his own track.

Perhaps we should do that occasionally on Goodwood nights too

It would be a shame if the shed "blew down" in his garden again, meaning the track had to be covered in lawn mowers and flower pots...........for 8 years

If I thought i could count on a little help then maybe the new shed would have been built quicker and the track usable sooner, but hey! you just can't get the staff these days.
