Hi all. Anyone who looks at the Medway Racing Club's page will see that (apparently) very little has happened for a couple of years - NOT TRUE!!
The club is alive and well and still living in Tunbury Ave, Walderslade. We meet every Wednesday at 7.30 and all are welcome to drop in to see what we are up to.
In fact we are about to launch into a new era for the club, which for us will represent a return to our roots. We stated back in 1988 racing fairly standard cars on a 4 lane Scalextric track in an army nissen hut progressing to a 6 lane scalextric track at our present location in the mid '90s. A purpose-built MDF track was acquired about 8 years ago which allowed us to expand the rules to allow changes of motor, tyres etc to suit the new track.
Well its time to update the track but as its still in pretty good order we are going to take the opportunity to resurface the track in line with many other clubs around the country - we hope that many of you will take the time to pop in, try your cars on the track and give us a run for our money in the races.
To coincide with the change we are changing our name to Medway Slot Car Club (it does what it says on the tin) and in time links for race calendar, racing rules and classes, etc will appear.
Keep watching.
Steve
