Contrary to popular opinion the moderators do not read every post on the forum. There are very few of us and we don't sit in front of the screen all day looking for something to do.

At the bottom right of every post is a button labelled "Report." Its prime purpose is to enable you to report dodgy posts but it gives you a hot line to the mods for other purposes as well. We all receive a PM when you use it and someone will take action.

When you make a double post (yes, we've all been there!) don't post again saying "mods please remove this" because it is likely to be missed. Use the button instead and it will be sorted for you. You can also get incorrectly spelt thread titles redone and topics moved from the wrong section by the same method.

Please use the button and help us to help you.

Tried again - 3 or 4 times - now it's not the "Forbidden" message but a "saving the post" message that goes on apparently forever. The odd part is that I can reply to other posts and even originate new ones in the forum section. I did get a piece of the post in - cut ir because I thought it might be a length problem but I cannot now add a continuation in the form of a reply.

Hmmm
So it went from one issue to another.
Al that same stalling issue has happened to me on more than one occasion.
Then it seems to fix itself when i rehit the tab. Ive honestly no idea why this is happening. It is a real hit and miss event.
The only thing I have noticed is my wifi net seems to be jumping back and forth from 4G and 5G. I try to keep it on 5G . I havent a clue if this is the issue.
I will see what I can find out.

My only further guess is this: When I type directly into the reply box as I am doing now, there seems to be no issue. Because my hands are severely affected by carpal tunnel syndrome, I use a voice-to-text program to dictate into a Word file for any lengthy discussion and the copy and paste into the New Topic or Reply boxes. It worked once when I cut just a part of the text but since then, no go. Perhaps there is some format problem between the forum software and a Word file - although I have been doing it successfully for years.

I have found that I get that message if I put double-quote marks in the message. Removing them or replacing with < and > worked OK.

Indeed, the single quote marks are an 'effective substitute' for the double quote marks.

Hi Mods,

I am new here.

I am also a MODERATOR on a Photography forum that uses the IDENTICAL software as this forum. That software is on its last legs as our version is substantially older and that forum has been around since the beginning of time.

Would one of you contact me privately? I would love some technical information on this forum and some help or direction on whether or not we can port our forum to this new software. Or, who we might contact for options.

I will gladly direct you to our forum, you can have a look and hopefully, we can talk. I have quite a few questions. We are afraid of losing a database that spans almost two decades of postings.

Why can I not pay my Plus+ membership? When I follow the links to "Store" or "Here", I click on them and just get a blank white page? This issue appears to have gone on for some time and yet it still isn't fixed.

We are currently working on this issue long dog. As their seems no apparent fix the mods are discussing alternative solutions. But for now dont pay and cancell any auto payments. We should have come up with a solution in the next week.
It's frustrating us to no end aswell.
