Gday all,

Decided to start a new topic...start fresh - as the title of the previous one now gives the wrong description of my track. I have pulled up the plastic Ninco digital and am underway in transforming the track to a three lane routed timber - Scorpius track.

We still have a few touch ups on the routing and need to route in the lane changes but you can see progress to date. The scenery and the shape of the raceway will remain largely unaffected.

Cool, I see what you mean by being in the middle of the same type of build I am doing. It really makes sence, Why redo so much scenery work unless you are tearing down the whole layout. Will have to follow this build.

Love it Dave, outstanding

What are the vital stats: lane spacing, track length, braid or copper, how long is the straight, are you racing only 1/32, floor space, track surface?

Especially like the esses at the bottom, reminds me of the Hornsby track esses. I'll be having something similar in my next track build.

Technical, flowing and long....what a great layout.

...Alright vital stats are...

Lane Spacing: 4 inches (near enough to 100mm)
Lane length: havent measured yet but think it will be around 19m
Rail type: 3/8 Braid
Straight length: Approx 4m Again havent measured but the table is 4.8m long
Scale: 1/32 only
Table Floor space: 4.8m x 2.4m box (track is almost the same outer dimensions
Track Surface: Ferradore

We used to turn out times of around 5.3 - 5.4 seconds in Ninco GT (well that was around pole times anyway) when it was plastic ninco digital mag racing. Most of the field of around 15 guys would be between 5,3 and 6.0. seconds. I would anticipate times of around 7 - 8 seconds once complete.

Looks great! Nice corner combos and long straights

I would caution that you may not have left enough track on the inside of the hairpin and the inner wheels may drop inside. It would be easier to add a bit of MDF now rather than when you complete the build. Have you put a car on the track? I left 1.5" I think on the inside of corners on mine.

Cheers for the heads up on the corners. I have left about 45mm which is prob about 1.75". Should be ok and have checked with most cars but I need to check my ninco murcielago... That's a wide car.

Thanks again

Jumping the gun a bit but I just wanted to rough in the track to check that it was fitting in with all the scenery. Its absolutely spot on!!

I have all but two sections to go.

Of course, I will have to pull it back out to route the lane changers and the braid recess.

Bit of dust etc over the track...the paint is ferador and is very consistent...that is just whit dust where it looks splotchy (is that a word??)
