Yes slot car clubs (or at least the better organised ones) over here normally do have insurance.
Unfortunately the litigious culture has spread internationally and that is making it more expensive for all of us.
Having said that, the insurance premium is trivial compared to the cost of a clubroom (at UK property prices)
