I wanted to do a custom Fly Lister Storm in the gulf livery. I finally came across a used one and Iceman (John McKenzie) on the board here was able to make me the Gulf #9 GT40 decals for it. Got it all back together this afternoon and here it is.

Stunning work, Lee!

Careful, Gerard may want that car!
If you haven't already seen his magnificent website on Gulf liveried slot cars, take a look here.

What is it about Gulf cars that makes them so attractive? Here are some pictures of a Fly Joest Porsche that Rob Soutar converted into the Gulf Porsche 962 K8 driven by Bell, Donovan and Lassig in the 1994 Le Mans 24-Hour:-

Kind regards

Russell

Lee, superb looking car! Nicest looking Storm I've ever seen!
(....and I don't give 2 thumbs-up and a drool to very many cars...

Good question, Russell. Can't speak for others, but for me, I think it began with the Gulf Fords at Le Mans and, since then, the Gulf name (and various liveries) has always represented a serious, committed, and successful approach to racing.

Or it could be that they just LOOK good!
