I'm afraid I've lapsed into a "Senior moment".

Can anyone remind me what the solution is called which allows decals to be formed around curved surfaces.

Also if any on-line suppliers in the UK stock it.

Regards

Alan

I have no idea if it's the same there... but here we have Microscale Decal-Sol (for forming) and Decal-Set (for sealing). FWIW....

You could check out Humbrol Decalfix which is quite easy to obtain in the UK. I believe it contains an adhesive plus a synthetic alcohol to help soften the decal.

There are other products like Micro Sol and Aero Sol (btw, be careful how you pronounce that) that may be what you are looking for too.

Hope this helps.

I can highly recommend Micro-Sol and Micro-Set... been using them for 20 odd years

The only gotcha? Make sure that it has completely cured before lacquering over the top of the decal.... (voice of experience

edit: I found a supplier http://www.grandprixmodels.co.uk/newspages/glues.htm look about half to two thirds of the way down the page...

edit: (again) there's always Hannants, go to http://www.hannants.co.uk and search for microscale

Thanks Guys for your replies.

I have ordered some Microsol and Microset from Grand Prix Models as recommended. They are of course on back order!.

I also ordered some glue from them which you can use on clear glazed areas, and claims not to damage paint finishes, and dries clear.

I haven't been able to track down the Humbrol product yet, but I'll keep trying!.

Many Thanks

Alan
