In this very moment one thing has flashed in my mind : on week basis I am spending more time in this forum ( and some time ago in SCI) than racing my cars on the track : is it normal?

Yes it is for some folk.

Now bearing that point in mind, I find it strange that some folk say that Scalextric SPORT World is doomed, just doomed!

You can race on the internet and visit your favourite website at the same time!

For many people, it depends a lot on whether they have a home track to race on.
I don't currently, so I definitely spend more time here and I don't think this is at all abnormal.
If they do have a home track, then another factor is whether they have anyone to race with, or a Challenger, or a Pacer (which I prefer to Challenger)

As for Mop's suggestion of simultaneous activities - I guess it depends on how many arms/tentacles one has, how long they are and whether one has benefit of a split personality.
For some, this might well be a possibility - Alien life forms perhaps

Now Moped will start eulogising how Scalextric Digital, in addition to doing the washing up, will ensure certain succes for SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence)

Although I think perhaps we have already, unwittingly found it.

Surely you're not suggesting that Moped is "not of this earth" ?

I dont have any tracks here.. all my cars work. (ok not all of them, but the ones I want to run when we next go racing (reminder : ring John))

I cant start building my routed track until dad has finished arsing about with his "project" (the house)

I find this helps me unwind and I am interested in how others perceive the hobby. I`m riding the crest of a wave with the club but very much got my eyes on the future and what it may develop. I could never spend more time here than down at the track cos I seem to live there nowadays. Marathon session this weekend, two events Friday, three Saturday and three today, got home at ten. Even the dog doesn`t recognise me!

Just got in from Junior night and I`m bushed but there was some cracking racing and the kids had a great time, very competitive..

Don`t know about dreaming but I`m content with me lot at mo. Not having to work for someone else and being involved in an activity that sees people enjoying themselves so much is great. This is a fantastic hobby, nothing quite like it comes near to being so interesting and sociable
