I will use a Bburago Clio V6 for this race, standard carrera go! gears and printed chassis!
home printed chassis, my design, with several cross braces to get the weight of the body handled!

Go! gears as they offer a short gearing to help braking of the heavy car!

Anyone else have a build going? I'm toiling away on mine. I'm using the rubber tires that came on the diecast for the rears and they seem to work pretty well. I ended up making aluminum wheels all around, and found a bag of o-rings for $5 that should provide a life time supply of front tires.

Diecast Proxy 2021

It is a new type of race! Racing heavy metall diecast bodies on a slot-track - at least i did not hear about it before!
The cars have been surprisingly fast! And they are powered "only" by a stock 1/43 Carrera Go! or SCX compact motor!
Thanks to all entrants, it has been a fun race! And the scenery did not suffer, not one damage!

---------------------------------------------------------
The RACE!
---------------------------------------------------------

Slotti143 - Porsche 962 on SCX compact chassis
Sadly the nice Porsche had silicone tires mounted.
And the rules clearly state only rubber or PU tires.
DQ

Claus - Benz
The high and narrow car wanted to do a barrel roll in nearly every corner!
Good brakes and good acceleration! Droparm with rotating guide as pickup.
I did not see any advantage in this construction on my flat track. Maybe on a plastic track with banked curves.

Cameron - Challenger
Good running car, but running rough.
Drifted nicely and under controll, no tendency to barrel roll.
Great driving car!

Marius - Lambo
The line between Drift and Grip is not visible at all, hard to hit the spot.
Guide sitting a little too high in the chassis, could have used the extra depth.
Long gearing, accelaration could be better.
Looks great on the track.
When opening the tight body mounting screws handling improved a little.

Peter - Clio V6
One of the weakest motors in the field hits one of the heaviest cars. heavy body, full driver with roll cage and constant light kit. Hm .... not a good combination.
But the handling of the Clio is awesome. A great driving car.
Tires could have used a little more grip. The ortmann tires seem to offer this little bit of extra bite that let´s the Clio loose extra time.

Holgi - Honda NSX
A great running car! But the motor is really stressed with all the weight of the body.
Great light kit and runs really smooth!
Looks awesome on the track!
