Hi everyone ive got a problem hope someone can help. I converted a Carrera BMW M3 GT2 to Scalextric Digital using a Scalextric saloon car chip and I converted the pick up to a Scalextric quick change guide aswell. Then I tested it. I have a advanced 6 car power base and the BMW runs around the track but will not change lanes when I press the button. I get a bleep sound. What could the problem be. I would open her up and check the wiring for the LED. Another trick is to use a digital camera; the output from the LED can be seen as a bright white light on the screen when you press the LC button on the controller.

Nice tip GregK, not heard that before. Off to experiment with my camera.

The light will glow all the time the car is on a live SSD track, LC button pressed or not. Looking at it with a camera is still a good idea, though, to determine if the LED is working well or not.

Hi thanks for reply. Ok I will check with my camera. I suppose if there is no light and the wiring is in tact then I guess I have a dodgy chip.
