What do you think, me personally, i think that digital is just another waist of reasearch money like the scalextric moto gp bikes. It gets a thumbs down from me.

i don't know for the scalex, the scx, or the carrera, but i tryed several times the Davic one, and it's fantastic!

Don't forget that when we where young, we loved TCR and Carrera Servo... it was not very good, but it was very funy : Davic have no interest for one or two player track, but when you have a big track, and 30 pilots, it's very pleasant to race with 14 other pilots, and the digital is the only way to do tis

I've tried the Scalextric prototype, The Carrera and the SCX. All are fun. It changes the aspect of racing. I'm looking forward to the real thing. I'm sure there will be systems better than others though. Lets wait and see.

Which ones have you tried tibius181

My only experience of digital is with Sean's (PendleSlot's) SCX DTM demo set.

It seems to work quite well

My only observation? You need a big circuit to make the best of the lane changing capabilities. It is a bit of a frantic (read: demolition derby) experience on short circuits.

On the take up of digital I'll leave with this thought....

In computer parlance, there is a saying....

"Never buy before version 3"

I ain't buying betamax....

I'll give it a look, might be cool. Another flavor of racing fun can't be bad thing. Maybe it will become so popular that normal cars that I've been drooling for will be sold off at fire-sale prices? (I can dream). Other than that, it can't be as bad as watching my Carerra cars do a slow-speed rollover in a wide sweeper at parade speed!

Cheers!

Now, I've got to say that having only 2 options, for/against, makes this a difficult poll in which to vote. I'd have to say that my answer would be "it depends -- I'll have to wait and see"

I'm sure there are forum members who have had the privilege of trying digital racing, but I'm sure there are many who have not.

Perhaps instead of Slots, you should research a dictionary for a while.

I guess you have never made a mistake in your life? Wow, I've never met anyone who is perfect before...

I'll reserve judgement untill I have tried it. However, I suspect that I'll enjoy it, but not for regular racing. KISS: simple rule, never break it.

Not naming a particular brand, I want it. I imagine event solo zipping around and having a choice of path to take. Even with a few "drones" banging around I would be great to "drive" amongst such a scene.

I always drive different lanes. Now I just move the car to a different slot then replug the controller. This will save me a step and keep me and others from worrying about what lane the thing goes in.

Having the ability to hand a 5th buddy a controller instead of having him stand around and watch (even if this is rare) actually race will be cool. I expect to consider it a whole new experience seeing good points to both (classic vs. MCPL).

Seems to me that all the digital topics and threads keep repeating themselves, just the "wrapping" is different.

Gentleman try it and than you are in a position to have a clear opinion!!
The "walking on the moon" comparison is just right.

Stop whining around, TRY IT and than make clear statements what you like and what you don´t like.

STOP looking into your crystal balls and tell the rest of the slot community what digital "might do or not do".

There are several 24h races with the DAVIC system organized all over Europe this year, I have not seen ONE of you guys at one of the races!!! Not as drivers nor even to WATCH!!

So please do me a favor and stop telling people what digital might do or might be in the future!!

See you on the track,
Nico
