In the ongoing effort by the Admins and Mods to make the forum more user friendly, we are trying a change that we are now able to bring to you with regard to photo uploading.

We are experimenting with this and CANNOT at this stage open this change to all the forums, as the impact, usage and any background issues need to be assessed first.

Upgrades to the other forums will come along as we are able to,

We have tried to make it as close to the outside world of uploads as we are able to based on the software we have to work with.

SO the first forums that have been updated and you are able to load pictures direct from your computer without using a 3rd party storage facility are:

Tracks and scenery
Scratch building
1/32 cars
Vintage and collectors corner (including vintage history in magazines subforum).

Pit lane

H:O scale
1/43
1/28 & 1/24
1:1 cars

Events

Slot Racing and Tuning

History and culture

DIGITAL (all subforums)

Media

ALL Forums OTHER than the clubs are now open for photo uploading (23/07/2017)

The direct photo upload is not quite as simple as social media sites but is fairly easy:

So how to do it:

1) Click on more reply options

Rectangle Beige Font Parallel Tints and shades

2) Click on attach files/ browse and select photo from your own computer.

Rectangle Font Parallel Brand Screenshot

3) Click on attach this file.

4) Click on add to post.

5) Job done - simples!

I would like to thank Brian (CMOTD) in particular for the huge amount of work this has taken and for his ongoing support to make this work.

Awesome work guys! That should really help regenerate traffic and if it means I don't have to use the dreaded Bucket anymore then that's awesome.
Gareth - hopefully thats exactly what it means

Just to reiterate - it is not EVERYWHERE in ALL forums YET :)
This will be great, took me 2 hrs to do the last lot of photo as I had to remember I had a photobucket account!
Why can I only see the pictures if I'm logged in?

Surely, if you want to attract new members, all casual visitors need to see the pictures.

Cheers.

Mick.
Mick - which pics? You should be able to see them in specific forums that are open .....
Hi Anthony,

This thread for example.

If I'm logged in I can see the pictures related to 'how to'.

If I'm not logged in I see a link which brings up the message 'Sorry you don't have permission for that' when I click on it.

Cheers.

Mick.

Mick, i get that message if i am not logged in too. When for example i get a reported post in my email, i cant simply hit the link as i get the same message as you.
I have to go and be logged in to actually see the report not only pictures. This is being looked into currently.

Hi

on Android tablet and logged in and no pics visible on the how to part in either mobile or desktop view.
I also don't get (any) pictures using mobile / tablet. This is not related to the direct upload I'm just reporting the same thing as Ade ^
I have checked this out on my desktop PC and two different versions of android tablet and can find nothing wrong. I can see the pictures regardless of being logged in or out. I have also checked with the test account in case admin privileges make a difference - same result, all pictures visible on all my devices.
I get the same as Ade and LMP ......... if I am not logged on I see a blue file name with the numbers of downloads.
Hi

more than I get Greg

This is a major step forward and greatly appreciated. I will be taking a + membership as this avoids all the issues with photo hosting sites. Thank you for adding this feature.

Cheers - Bob.
