Does gurning improve lap times?

I'm curious, does pulling a face whilst racing allow you to go faster? Is it a case of, the more hideous the face, the faster you'll go? Also, is their a favourite position to be in whilst performing?

Doesn't seem to help Graeme much or the bobbing about
Been in a race with him one side and Diddy Druce on the other, only saw my car for half of the race
