Following on from previous posts on the forum, Slot On Donny, the Doncaster swapmeet is being held on Sunday 10th March 2013, at Alexander House, Askern, Doncaster, DN6 0AB. It is only a few minutes drive from both the A1 and M62, and a few miles north of Doncaster on the A19.

Entry on the door is £3 for adults and £1 for under 16's.

For anyone wanting to sell some cars / track or other items we are charging £10 for a full table and £5 for half a table.

Hope to see some of you at the event and i hope we can make it an annual one too.

Can't commit 100% at the minute, but I'll stick it on the calendar so as to try and avoid any scheduling conflicts. What kind of fees would I be looking at if I brought the track along for a bit of charity fundraising ?

DATE HAS BEEN PLACED ON HOLD DUE TO A CLASH WITH ANOTHER EVENT

WILL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED WHAT IS HAPPENING BUT THE DATE IS CHANGING AND WON'T BE ON THE 10th MARCH AS ORIGINALLY STATED

Hi all,

Sorry if it seems there's been a lack of news on the new date. At the moment i'm looking at June but i am waiting to hear back from the NSCC to see if it is too close to their Osset event and if it is will look for another date.

I have been in contact with some of the traders and Slot Car Promotions who have been very helpful and have given me some great advice. Will just need suppport from everyone on this forum to spread the word and see if people turn up - once a date is finalised.

Alan, It might be an idea to get a mod to delete this thread and start a new one when you have a new date.
At the moment it is very confusing unless you scroll down to the announcement that the show is not on the 10th March and will be rescheduled. Some people will not do that and believe that it is still on the 10th, maybe even turn up on the day!
My recommendation would be to fit it in between Swindon and Milton Keynes, maybe the last weekend in January, the only other slot I can see in the first half of the year is the beginning of June as you have already noted.

It seems mad that we have waited years for a Northern swapmeet to become established again and now you are proposing to set up another one only weeks apart . As a buyer I only have a limited amount of money to spend and it wouldn't be worth my while to travel to 2 events in a short space of time . Also as a small scale seller I wouldn't want to be fetching along the same stock to sell at two events so close together . Even the big traders are liable to bring a lot of the same stock along to both which isn't much of an attraction for anyone ? If I'm forced to chose ..I'm afraid I'll stick with Ossett . I'd love to support your new event but you need it as far apart from Ossett as possible !
