Double Trouble Vintage Meeting 2013

Hi guys,

I am pleased to announce that next years meeting will be the weekend of April 6th & 7th. The rules and classes will stay the same as previous years.

In addition we will be holding a "Big Birds" race on Saturday afternoon for GP cars from 1950 to 1965. There will be two classes. The first class will be for cars using vintage parts built to the same standards as Double Trouble cars, the second class for cars using modern components to CSCRA rules.

I am sorry that this years event had to be cancelled but we will benefit from the superb facilities at our new clubroom as a result of the extra time spent getting everything right. I would like to thank my clubmates for all their hard work. You know who you are.

Cheers

John

John/Mick,

What time are you opening up for on Saturday and what time do you expect to start the Saturday afternoon GP race?

Also - no need for bacon for me please, can't answer for Eddie. "Yes" above meant "yes, coming"

Coop

Hello John,

Would love to but alas cannot make it this year, just too much going on with work changes. Ralph also cannot be with you.

Sure you'll have a great weekend, enjoy!

Next Year please

Chris
Hi Chris,

Sorry you're missing it but I know how busy you are. As you say there's always next year.

I've just finished fiddling with my cars so it's a beer then bed and up early tomorrow..

Cheers

The meeting was great fun and very well run by the Rockingham Club chaps. My first time to this club and I loved the two tracks. All I have to do now is build some more competitive cars for next year.

Thanks for a great weekend.

I go away each year thinking the same thing, particularly for the 24th class but always end up using my Russkit Lotus

Thanks to John, Mick & Mike & the other Rockingham members & competitors for making an enjoyable weekend

Excellent weekend gentlemen, thanks to all.

I'm very impressed with the new clubroom which is light years ahead of the old place (although I actually liked the old place, especially late afternoon in Autumn when the sun was level with the windows). Two great tracks, I'll see what the third (slotstox) is like at UK Slotcar show next month!

Coop
Hi, Thanks for a great day. There was some very close racing.
I must also build a more competitive car for next year.
Also check that the wheels stay on.
See you in September.
Clive
Thanks to John and the Micks, another decent event, well done.

Pete
Thanks fpr the kind words gentlemen. I'm so pleased everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, despite in some cases mechanical mishaps.

Derek was in a lot of peoples thoughts over the weekend.

A massive thanks for my clubmates for their suppoert paticularly Mick for doing most of the running of the meeting and David and Angela for the nosh.

We'll hopefully get the results up by the middle of the week.

Cheers

John
Hi Guys
despite a distasterous trip home ,I had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend with some great racing ,and some good banter
I was lovely to see the effort that the rocking ham guys had put in to the premises has been rewarded with one of the best slot racing facilities in the country
They have gone straight from the 1960s to the 20 teenys and missed out on the 50 years between
thanks again to every one who made it a great weekend

cheers tony
